farewells

Emmet

Should you read this, I'm afraid it means our trains have departed this station separately. I truly am sorry for this; out of every situation possible this is one that I most feared. I would rather have you gone home than me, if I had the choice. (But I am sure you would say the same for me.)

Still, please do not despair nor consider us forever separated. I know that we shall be reunited again one day, once more, as a two-car-train. I can only hope that it will be in a more pleasant situation than Luceti. Keep this in mind-- we shall share a destination in the end, no matter how winding the track. You must believe this.

Please take care of yourself, for me. I know you can pull through, Emmet; you are a strong individual on your own and I know you can handle yourself. It may be hard [god he knows it will be hard] but please be strong. Remember that our separation is ultimately temporary.

I shall see you soon in the future, Emmet.

I love you.

Ingo

Silver

I must apologize for the sudden departure I must have taken. If I had the chance and the warning I would have made for better arrangements, but this letter will have to do.

I'm glad I had the time to get to know you, Silver. Truly, the opportunity was one of the few advantages Luceti had for me, and I regret that I shall no longer be able to look out for you-- or vice versa. Having your company before Emmet arrived did more for me than you know; really, I don't believe I would have been quite as well off as I managed without your assisstance and unconscious support.

If you can, please look after Emmet for me, at least in being present should he need it. (You know how I worry.) I realize you do not know him as well as you do me, but please treat him as you have me and in time I am sure you two can be there for each other. I believe he could do a better job than myself in providing a pillar of support, even, so please give him the chance should it come to that.

Perhaps one day our paths will cross again, whether in Luceti or otherwise. Good luck with reaching your own destinations-- I know you are capable of many things and I believe that you-- and Gold, and Miss Crys-- can overcome the challenges and troubles you face. I may be worlds away on my own track, now, but I believe in you.

Thank you, Silver. I am happy to have been able to consider you a son.
