[Alrighty. Ingo has since discovered his predicament here, and spent some time figuring it out for himself; panicking in front of people isn't something Ingo usually does and he wasn't about to start, despite... you know, being thrown into who knows where with a pair of wings that would look better on a Pidove. Seriously, what is this?!

While all the information to absorb threatened to give him a headache, recovering his Pokémon calmed him down considerably, not to mention putting on his own clothes. That makes everything all better!

Except wait. Hold that "recovering Pokémon" part.]

Excuse me. [The journal icon reveals a rather sour-looking young man. And what are those things on the side of his face anyway? Sideburns?] Allow me to introduce myself-- I am Ingo, a Subway Boss. One of my Pokémon, Chandelure, has disappeared in favor of exploration; if anyone happens to see it-- [He pauses.]

Ah. [That's right, people here probably don't know what a Chandelure looks like...] Chandelure is... to put it simply, a.... sentient chandelier. Illuminated by fire. He is harmless, I assure you, but I apologize in advance for any possible mischief.

Still, if anyone happens to come across him, please let me know. [He mutters something about this "not being the train track he was expecting" before raising his voice again.] Thank you.

[Chandelure can be found about anywhere, barring perhaps the inside of people's houses... and can be found multiple times, as doubtless it'll wander off more than once.

In the meantime, as he has as much a chance of finding the fiery light fixture here as well as there, Ingo himself will be wandering around town, that disgruntled New Feather look in his eyes and a giant... axeface dragon...dinosaur thing following complacently behind him.]

[Blah blah looking for his weird Pokémon Silver's neve heard of- wait a minute.]

A subway boss? [What's a subway boss?]

Yes. One of two. [Oh.... is that going to have to be explained too, huh.... Uh...] I run the Subway and its battle system.

A subway with a battle system? [...That actually sounds pretty cool...]

[DOESN'T IT JUST. Also dangerous. Whoohoo, danger!!]

Correct. [Since he didn't ask WUT IS BATTLIN Ingo will assume Silver kind of knows what he's talking about.] Have you perhaps heard of Battle Towers?

[Hell yes, danger.] The big buildings where you try to win a bunch of battles with set rules in a row?

Correct again. The Battle Subway is set up in that manner, but underground, instead. As well as serving as transportation. [You can't get anywhere in a building except higher up in the air. LAME.]

[...That is so cool. ...But wait-] What about really big Pokémon, or moves like Surf or Earthquake?

The Subway's narrow space, while larger than ordinary subways to accommodate Pokémon, is generally seen as an original obstacle to be overcome in battle by Trainers. The cars are also built to resist damage from moves-- but with Surf, you risk getting wet, of course.

[He sounds almost amused at that last one.] I've had encounters with that kind of incident, myself.

[You know...

He didn't remember the light inside the clothing shop to be purple-ish. Or glowy like it was candlelight. He doesn't notice the room's new headpiece yet, but]

[PRETENDING TO BE A REAL CHANDELIER IS FUN. Chandelure may or may not give itself away by emitting an insubstantial, ghostly giggle.

Ingo is outside, dithering around the tunnel entrance. Surely it didn't go down in there.... He'll try the buildings soon enough.]

[Man did he hear something?

....Nah, he'll just. Go to look for some swim trunks despite the cold weather]

[Swim trunks? Are you for real?

Okay, Haxorus. Stay here, and if Chandelure comes out of that hole... grab it. In the meantime, Ingo will go ask around! OH BOY. He'll try this building first, then! Clothing store, seems like.

Of course, Chandelure sees him approaching. ABORT ABORT FLEE RUN ABANDON SHIP GOTTA HIDE BEHIND THIS CLOTHING RACK BEFORE HE COMES IN. Gee, whoever designed the atmospheric lighting for this place has weird taste. It jumps around like crazy!]

[Well, Chien's seen a lot of weird looking monsters, but a floating... light... thing is definitely not one of them. He's kind of stalking the Chandelure through the forest - what is it doing there? who knows! - and is infinitely both curious and wary.]

[Masaomi notices that too, trunks in hand, frowning. He mutters to himself-]

Jeez... what's with the lights.

["Who knows" is right. It doesn't really know itself-- the reasoning is basically WHY NOT.

Chandelure's wandering rather aimlessly, giving an interested flare of its fire every time it comes upon something interesting-- oooh what kind of small furry brown Pokémon is that WAIT NO COME BACK DON'T RUN AWAY -- and generally being unaware of its young stalker.

It pauses around some especially large trees, studying them carefully, then-- being a ghost --cheerfully glides right through them, concealing the fiery light fixture from view. Wonder where it'll pop out next? It may come out facing Chien, and thus discover him...]

[Aaannnnnd Ingo's opening the door and stepping inside!

Chandelure becomes even more exciteable at the sound of his master's entrance, and swiftly turns a corner-- only to bump into Masaomi and his swim trunks! Nothing catches fire, but-- oh nooo, the jig is up!]

[Hmmmm. It's got fire on it, so it's gotta be weak to water and earth based magics. 'Cause they stomped out fires. He's only got fire, but--

It went through the trees.

Chien's never been afraid of ghosts, or really thought about them existing, because there's nothing like that in the jungle... And when Chandelure pops out face-to-face with Chien, he really can't stop the startled scream.]

Aaah!

[Akito's been exploring this place since he arrived, and it doesn't take him long to spot the strange glowing light from the item store. He wanders inside, looking around and blinking at the strange lighting in here.

Why does he feel like he's being watched by something...?]

[what is- his first instinct when bumped into is of course to turn and when it isn't a person, his next instinct is to try to punch it in the face. Which... might not work well on a ghost, but]

[Chandelure screams too, but it's more muted and less... earthly. Which makes sense, considering... well, it's a ghost. Gosh, boy, you surprised it!

Startled, it darts back into the tree, but only for a moment; it peeps out more slowly this time, to see if he's still there. H--Hello? Hi?]

[...I sense a disturbance in the force.

Or maybe just a type vulnerability...?]

[Because you are being watched by something, Akito! If the walls have ears, then the light fixtures have eyes. Or, at least, this light fixture does.

You're welcome to notice its arms waving slightly... Chandeliers aren't really supposed to move, are they? And aren't they usually attached to the ceiling by something?]

[He's still there, and fear is definitely overridden by curiosity. He was always good with the monsters back home, at least in Galpos, so... Peeking out form his own hiding spot behind a different tree, peering at the strange creature.]

What are you?

[That's right-- Fighting-type moves go right through ghosts. Chandelure gives an offended noise at the fist hovering in its face, and flashes its fire indignantly... but seems unhurt. Welp.

Ingo is alerted by the flickering light, however, and hurries over, rounding the corner. He's immediately stern.]

Chandelure! [BAD GHOST. Cowed, Chandelure backs off.] I'm terribly sorry-- if he caused you much trouble...
