second train → ...literally a train (days 2-7)

[So lately there have been a bunch of crazy body changes the poor people of Luceti have had to go through. Ingo is no exception, but even after being turned into a Pokémon yesterday, he definitely wasn't expecting this.

SUDDENLY, SUBWAY SYSTEM.

There's a new set of stairs near the fountain that descend underground. The sign beside it helpfully spells out LUCETI SUBWAY. Elsewhere in the enclosure, similar staircases can be found, or the subway simply emerges from underground at the end of its path (such as the one near the beach).

Going down the stairs near the fountain reveals a rounded room with a number of platforms like this. The maps inside depict where each subway line goes. Most of the subway lines are pretty normal, but there's one that just goes in a circle labled "BATTLE LINE." There's an instruction sign on its platform explaining that it's a Pokémon battling line, and if you board you will be expected to specify your battle type and face 20 hologrammed trainers before reaching the SUBWAY BOSS(a hologrammed Ingo and/or his brother). GOOD LUCK CHALLENGERS.

Yep, other than that and the suspiciously Ingo-sounding intercom, it seems like a totally normal subway!

...Except one more thing.



Why do the trains have sideburns?!]



[Feel free to use the subway as you please! Tag in traveling groups, run into each other on the cars, or strike up a conversation with intercom-Ingo, whatever works. There can be stations wherever, and they can be underground/aboveground, either is fine! YEAH.]

[Right on cue, the windows light up as the station flashes by, temporarily flooding the subway with extra light. Byeee, midstation. See you later.]

--Wait, what? [Oh fuckdammit Silver DID YOU JUST DO THAT?]

[Ingo doesn't really laugh at things, but... that was kind of amusing.]

[ALRIGHT FINE YEAH LET'S KICK SOME ASS, Gold selects Aitaro and Politaro as his Pokémon this time.]

[And this time Sneasel and Murkrow are Silver's choices.]

[yadda yadda yadda, the first five are still pretty cakewalky. They might have actually hit Gold's and Silver's Pokémon once or twice, but y'know...

Anyway, sixth battle in this set, thirteenth overall! The Trainers are a Cyclist ♂ and a Parasol Lady. The Cyclist sends out an Audino, the Parasol Lady a Lampent (which they may or may not recognize as similar to Chandelure).]

[Alright, finally these trainers are starting to provide some sort of challenge. ...Not much of one, but still a challenge!]

Alright, time for another win, Silver! [And Gold sends out Politaro.]

[And Silver sends out Sneasel, who immediately uses Taunt on the Audino- it's subtle, so it might not go noticed. That thing looks way too much like Chansey, so he's just going to play it safe. He knows for sure that Gold will cover Sneasel's fire type weakness with Politaro, so there's no problem.]

[Wow, okay, so that about slices Audino's movepool in half. You have successfully ticked it off, Sneasel. Unfortunately, one of the attack moves it knows is Hyper Beam. Good luck with that.

The Lampent also sends off a very powerful attack towards Sneasel, intent on engulfing it in a raging flame-- Inferno. Gosh, jerks, ganging up on Sneasel!! Lampent is pretty slow, however, and Inferno is easily dodged-- but it may drive him into the Hyper Beam.]

[The solution to this, of course, is to use the enemies' power against each other. Time to bust out the new move they've been working on, then.]

Politaro, hit the miniature Chandelure with Scald! [Politaro leaps to the side of the ghost lamp, blasting it with a stream of water with the intent to drive it right into its partner.]

[tsuntrader]

[And it's the combination of that and the fact that Sneasel is just that ridiculously fast and agile that he manages to avoid damage. He even seals the deal with a Faint Attack on that stupid miniature Chandelure since the pink thing won't be doing anything for a little while.]

[Ouch, Scald hurts, and so does the Faint Attack-- Lampent's out for the count. However, its ability is Flame Body, so there's a chance that Sneasel was burned if he wasn't careful. Meanwhile, the pink thing is stuck recovering from using Hyper Beam. Yep. Not going anywhere.

The Parasol Lady sends out a Rufflet next.]

[Okay, Silver, Gold is going tolet you deal with the Rufflet, while he focuses on crippling that Audino, ordering Politaro to use Scald again.]
